LTE: Support for Kimberly Stolow for HVRSD BOE

by Community Contributor

To the Editor:

I am a retired teacher and the proud mother of school board candidate Kimberly Stolow. Kim showed leadership qualities at a very young age. In high school, she was active in theater and the Key Club, a service-based organization. At graduation, Kim was chosen by her class of about 700 to receive an award for being the nicest student in the senior class.

In college, Kim realized that people always went to her when troubled, probably because she was non-judgmental and a good listener. This ability to listen to everyone coupled with her very caring nature led Kim to pursue a career in social work. After receiving her master’s degree, Kim worked with abused children during the week, and volunteered on weekends at the Comfort Zone Camp, a camp for kids dealing with the loss of a parent or sibling. Again, Kim used her listening skills to help these children. Kim’s unique ability to listen to others without judgement will be an asset to both the Board and the community if she is fortunate enough to serve.

All residents will have a voice even if they have no children in the school system. Kim’s social work experience strengthens her awareness into the struggles of others including the financial burdens many senior citizens face.

Kim is an adjunct professor at Rutgers, single parent, and wonderful mother. She has been an advocate for my grandson who is speech-delayed. Thanks to her, my grandson has made great progress. You will be able to count on Kim to advocate for your children as she did for my grandson.

Your vote for Kim Stolow for HVRSD School Board will result in electing a caring, responsible, transparent, and effective Board of Education leader who will represent all district staff, students and residents of Hopewell Valley.

Carol Stolow,
Hopewell Township
