Meetings Cancelled Due to Icy Roads

Both the Hopewell Township Committee meeting and the Hopewell Valley Regional School District meetings have been cancelled tonight February 9, 2015 due to icy road conditions.

According to HVRSD Superintendent Dr. Smith: “Due to the recommendation by the Hopewell Township Police encouraging citizens to stay home this evening and the cancellation of the Hopewell Township Committee meeting, the Board of Education meeting scheduled for this evening has been cancelled.”

Also according to Hopewell Township Police on Monday February 9, 2015 5:00 PM

The National Weather Service has issued the following information:

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 AM tomorrow morning.
Freezing rain, sleet and snow are predicted for this evening.
There is potential for up to an inch of snow and sleet accumulations.
There is also the potential for a trace to one tenth inch of ice between now and midnight.
Periods of light freezing rain and sleet will probably become steadier for a time this evening and eventually change to snow by midnight.
***Travel may prove difficult. Citizens are encouraged to stay home this evening if possible.
Temperatures are expected to be in the mid to upper 20’s.
There are no major incidents to report at this time and all roadways are open.
***The Hopewell Valley Regional School District will be closing all buildings this evening at 5 pm.
