Mercer County Park Commission Deputy Commissioner Joseph Pizza updated the public about the status of the Hopewell Valley Golf Course property at the Commission’s regular meeting on Monday, October 25.
Pizza explained that the Park Commission is continuing to address issues with regard to water and septic. The Commission is “entering another round of approvals with DEP for water…this will be for the final approval to put the bid spec out to deal with the water,” Pizza explained, and said this also applies to the septic issues. The Commission will also oversee stream dredging on the property “which is critical to irrigating the course also going to be done during the winter.”
“We’re looking to get both specs out and under contract by the end of the year,” said Pizza, who explained that “these are not long construction projects” and all achievable during the winter months.
Pizza says he is “confident it will be done for the upcoming season” and that all car paths have been paved.
