MercerMe tests Facebook “Instant Articles”

by MercerMe Staff

The internet never stops moving forward and reinventing itself. Neither does MercerMe. Today, we are pleased to announce that we are testing support of Facebook’s recently added “instant articles” feature. Readers of the site at www.mercerme.com or from desktop computers will not notice a difference, but Facebook followers of MercerMe using the iPhone or Andriod Facebook apps (and that’s a lot of you, we checked) will soon notice a little lightning bolt icon on our articles in your feed.

MercerMe articles will now be specially formatted when viewed on mobile phones through Facebook to allow for a much faster and more readable experience. We’re told that it’s up to 10x faster to view them this way… and much easier to share, like and comment. The text of our articles and photos will now fill up more of your screen, making it easier to read local news while on the go.

In the coming days, please take a look and tell us what you think of the difference – and please bear with us wile we work out any bugs. As always, thank you for reading and helping the MercerMe be truly “community connected.”
