On November 16, the Hopewell Valley Central High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams ended their seasons at the State Group 3 championships at Holmdel Park. It was a tough competition and the boys finished 13th overall out of 20 teams. Freshman Paige Dumont, the only girl who qualified to represent Hopewell, finished 70th overall in the girls’ race.
Next week is the beginning of the winter sports season. Ice hockey is the first team to be competing, with a scrimmage and game this week for the newly merged Hopewell Valley/Montgomery varsity team.
