Music Together Hosts Family Benefit Concert

by Community Contributor

On Saturday, June 1, at 2:30pm, the Music Together Princeton Lab School will host a benefit concert for families with children under 8 in the Music Together Worldwide Community Room, 225 Hopewell Pennington Road, one mile outside Hopewell Boro. This special concert will feature favorite Music Together teachers and the live Music Together band for the benefit of the Gatsby Midtlyng Memorial Expression Swing Project.

Tickets are $10/individual or $25/family, and all of the proceeds will be donated to the Gatsby Midtlyng Memorial Expression Swing Project, in honor of two-year-old Gatsby, a Music Together student who tragically passed away on March 10, 2019. Gatsby’s bright smile, sweet giggle, and boundless energy brought great joy and love to so many people. In memory of Gatsby, his parents, Kim and Bjorn, have made arrangements with Hopewell Township to erect a set of parent-child swings in Gazebo Park.

Music Together Princeton Lab School Director Sarah Orfe said, “We are honored to host this benefit concert to support Gatsby’s family in building the memorial swings in Hopewell. The Midtlyng family has been coming to Music Together for years, and music is an important part of their lives. We hope that we can raise our voices for Gatsby and raise money, too.”
