Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri and Lawrence Township Police Chief Mark Ubry reported that a teacher at Notre Dame High School was arrested Monday afternoon as his residence in Franklin Township, NJ.
Edmund J. Harman, age 26, is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of criminal sexual contact. Bail was set in the amount of $150,000.
It is alleged that during an occasion in February 2016, the victim went into school early to meet with Harman in his classroom at Notre Dame for extra credit. During that time, Harman fondled her breasts, kissed the back of her neck, and massaged her back and legs. Harman is also alleged to have directed the student to send him naked photographs of herself.
Harman was arrested Monday afternoon following a joint investigation conducted by the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and the Lawrence Township Police Department. The investigation is ongoing. Despite having been charged, every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
