PEAC closes its doors for good

The following letter was sent to PEAC Health & Fitness member November 11, 2020

Dear PEAC Members & Friends

I am writing with great sadness to inform you that PEAC Health & Fitness, after 24 years in business, will be permanently closing its doors at 5:00pm on Sunday, November 29, 2020.

Unfortunately, like many other fitness centers and businesses, PEAC has been greatly affected by the extended New Jersey mandatory closure and further impacted by the imposed regulations for our reopening. These State regulations have restricted us from offering a majority of our services, programs, events and amenities making it impossible for us to operate adequately and successfully. In addition, due to the current circumstances we understand and appreciate members’ apprehension in returning to PEAC. As a result we had to make this difficult and very emotional decision.

On behalf of all of us at PEAC, I wish to express our deepest gratitude for all the support we received over the past 24 years from our valued members, as well as the community. I would also like to acknowledge our staff for their dedication to PEAC, professionalism and invaluable service to support you with your health and wellness journey. PEAC has always prioritized the well-being of our members and guests. We were committed to provide personalized care and assistance to improve the quality of life for many by promoting total health, fitness and wellness, with a goal to provide an exceptional member experience.

As you might imagine, this announcement is heartbreaking. You are as much a part of our lives as PEAC was part of yours. PEAC was fortunate to have the ability and opportunity to support the many charitable organizations, schools and events in the surrounding communities. We also felt fortunate that you chose the PEAC Community to be apart of your life and for that, you have our deepest and sincere appreciation.

Some of you may have questions regarding your membership. Please understand that, with all that is involved with our closing it may take some time for us to respond to all inquiries. However, NO further deductions or payments will be collected from your account after November 29th. Should you be entitled to a refund for prepaid Training, Massage Therapy, Court Time, Field Rentals, Programs, or paid Membership Fee extending past December 1st, we will provide at PEAC and online, a request form to be submitted for consideration and validation.

We will continue “Business as Usual” with a full schedule through Sunday 11/29 with classes scheduled through Sat. 11/28 (no class on Sun. 11/29), hours of operation, KidSpace last day Sat. 11/28, etc. We may place some items out such as apparel and some new and slightly used fitness items that could be purchased at a discount or offered “free”, We also may have some computer monitors, office furniture, filing cabinets, blow-up bounce-slides, trash cans, new and slightly used recreation equipment from Turf, etc….feel free to ask us if you have any interest to purchase these items.  We have engaged a fitness equipment seller/auctioneer to conduct an online auction for the fitness equipment, so we will not be able to sell equipment directly to members until after the auction. Once the auction is setup, we can provide additional information so you can participate.

We have always believed and strived for PEAC to be more than a “Gym”, together we developed a community with special acquaintances and cherished friendships. A community we will sadly miss and fondly remember.

Sincerely,

Michael Briehler & Family
