During the months of July and August, the Pennington Water Department will be conducting a fire hydrant flushing & inspection program. This is a preventative maintenance process in order to remove sediment build-up in the water mains, thereby, improving the water quality. It allows the Water Department to monitor water flow and pressure, and perform necessary maintenance to hydrants. At times, the flushing may cause momentary pressure loss and discoloration, this is only temporary. If the water is discolored, you may want to avoid washing clothes. When flushing is finished, simply run your cold water until it is clear. If you have any questions, please call Borough offices at (609) 737-9440.
