by MercerMe Staff

Pennington’s annual community street fair, Pennington Day, will be held on May 19, 2018. Pennington Day celebrates the Greater Hopewell Valley area’s best family fun, food vendors, arts and crafts, music, dance, non-profits and more. Over 5,000 people and 225 unique booth vendors took part in last year’s festivities, with 2018 looking to grow even more. The rain-or-shine event starts at 10am and ends at 4pm.

The day-long event, which takes up the greater part of South Main Street, does more than just entertain – it helps great causes. The funds raised by Pennington Day booth vendors contributes to grants that are awarded to many local civic causes, surpassing $15k in 2017. But, the day really is focused on family fun, like the long standing Quilt Show, Coffeehouse Stage and dance performances that delight kids and adults alike.

“Kids from 8 months to 80 years enjoy Pennington Day every year,” says board chair Rachel Donington. “It’s a community-driven event that reminds us how special it is to be a part of Hopewell Valley.

And for the fifth year in a row, the Hopewell Valley Arts Council will be taking over the lawn at Howe Commons with has some great new activities and art demonstrations.

While it is still March, time is limited to register for booth space as it’s expected to sell out again. For-Profit and non-profit both vendors are encouraged to apply as quickly as possible. And only a few spots remain for food vendors, who take residence at the Toll Gate Elementary school loop and Howe Commons. To register, visit: http://penningtonday.org/vendors/.

One of the best ways for a company to align their brand with Pennington Day and the five thousand-plus attendees is through official sponsorships, with different levels available. For more information, visit: http://penningtonday.org/sponsorship/.

The Pennington Day committee is still taking grant requests. To learn more about the grant request process and to submit a request, visit: http://penningtonday.org/grants/.
