Pennington Library Hosts Community Helper Event for Over 100 Local Kindergarten and Preschool Aged Children

by MercerMe Staff

The Pennington Library hosted its 6th annual “Busy Town,” honoring local community helpers and promoting the library and reading.

For the event, a block of Pennington Borough is transformed into the beloved Richard Scarry’s children’s book “Busy, Busy Town.” Local shop owners, as well as “Mr. Stinky” the garbage truck driver, the fire department, police and “Farmer Pickles” to name a few, were in attendance. Over 100 children from Toll Gate and nursery schools from Pennington Borough walked up and down the block learning about the roles that community helpers play in Pennington’s own busy town.
