Perfect Day to Walk or Bike to School in Hopewell

by Mary Galioto

Hopewell Elementary School saw a great turnout at today’s first Walk and Roll to School Day,  a one-day event encouraging local residents and their children to bike or walk to school, co-sponsored by the Hopewell Borough Board of Health.

The Board of Health is hopes to start a “walking school bus” pilot program in the fall which would allow children within Hopewell Borough to walk together to school along a designated route with adult supervision. It would be a great way to get exercise, reduce our carbon footprints, keep extra cars off the local streets and the school parking lot, and allow children some social time with friends and neighbors. Stay tuned for more details on that!
