While the snow amounts may not have met many meteorologist predictions, there was still some accumulation in Mercer County. A winter storm warning that was supposed to be in effect until 3pm has ended with merely a winter weather advisory. Local roads are still being cleared and plenty of Mercer County residents are staying put.
“All roads have remained open. Local, County and State plows remain active. It appears that residents did a good job not parking on roadways making it easier for plowing operations.
While the statewide travel ban has been lifted, it is recommended that residents stay home unless it is really necessary to travel. Again, this will help with the clearing of roads. If they must travel, they should drive with due caution.
There have been no reported power outages.
The Hopewell Valley Emergency Operations Center here at police headquarters has been open and staffed since 2 pm yesterday. We will determine when to close the EOC later in the day depending on weather conditions,” shared Hopewell Township Chief Lance Maloney.
