On April 4, 2021, the Hopewell Police Department received a call from Michael’s Deli in Hopewell Borough for a reported assault complaint at approximately 5:22pm. Officer Amabile responded to the report that an individual was assaulted by an unknown person while inside of the store. The complainant stated that the assault occurred after an argument with the accused, who was not wearing a mask inside the store. Investigation is ongoing.

On April 11, 2021, Officer Voorhees was detailed to Al’s Sunoco on South Route 31 for a theft complaint at 1:36pm. The complainant reported that sometime during the overnight hours of Saturday, April 10, an unknown individual removed a catalytic converter from a vehicle parked on the property. Investigation is ongoing.

On the morning of April 12, Officer Karnoff was detailed to three (3) Wrick Avenue addresses for burglary complaints. The complainants all reported that sometime during the overnight hours of Sunday, April 11, their unlocked vehicles were entered. The suspect(s) removed cash and other valuables from the vehicles. Investigations are ongoing.

On April 13, 2021, Officer Vaccarino was detailed to Music Together on Pennington Hopewell Road for a theft complaint at 8:08am. The complainant reported that sometime during the overnight hours of Monday, April 12, lumber that was being stored on the property was stolen. Investigation is ongoing.

Several cases if identity theft have occurred during the past few weeks. All investigations are ongoing:

On April 5, 2021, Officer Collins was detailed to a Shrewsbury Court address for a reported identity theft complaint.  The complainant reported that an unknown person filed for unemployment benefits using their personal information. 

On April 12, 2021, Officer Hunt was detailed to a State Park Drive address for a reported identity theft complaint. The complainant reported that an unknown person fraudulently used their credit card to make online purchases. On 

On April 13, 2021, Officer Gavdanovich was detailed to a West Broad Street address for a reported identity theft complaint. The complainant reported that an unknown person filed for unemployment benefits using their personal information.
