On February 11, 2020, Officer Sparano responded to a Hopewell Township resident who reported a Fraud. The victim advised that he had been contacted by an unknown individual who stated that his social security was compromised. The victim was then asked to purchase store gift cards and forward the information to the actor. The victim complied with the actor’s request and forwarded multiple gift cards valued at $18,800. 

Officer Adam Liotta responded the same day to Hopewell Valley Central High School for the report of a theft. The victim reported on that his air pods were stolen from his unsecure locker.  The value of the air pods are approximately $170.00. A follow up investigation is being conducted by Officer Liotta with the assistance of Detective Maccaquanno.

On February 12, Officer Sara Erwin responded to a business on Washington Crossing Pennington Road for the report of a theft. The victim reported on this date, a wallet containing cash, credit cards, and identification were left at the business and later taken. The total value of stolen property is approximately $325.00.

On the same day, Officer John Ferner responded to a business on State Highway 31 for the report of a theft. The victim reported that between February 2 and February 3, an unknown actor(s) removed the catalytic converter from his vehicle. The vehicle was parked at the business for repairs. The estimated value of the catalytic converter is approximately $500.00.

On February 14, Officer Adam Liotta responded to Capital Health Hospital for the report of a theft. The victim reported between February 12 and February 13, a wallet containing credit cards and identifications were taken from her pocketbook. The value of the wallet is approximately $200.00. A follow up investigation is being conducted by Officer Liotta.

Officer Michael Hyle responded to an East Broad Street address on February 17 for an investigation. During the investigation, Officer Hyle encountered the accused, who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued by the City of Trenton in the amount of $3,500.00. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Hopewell Township Police Department where he was processed, released from custody on his own recognizance, and provided with a municipal court date in Trenton.

On February 20, a Hopewell Borough resident went to the Hopewell Township Police Department to report an incident of Fraud/Identity Theft. The victim advised that a bank account was opened with his personal information without his authorization. Officer Christopher Vaccarino was the investigating officer.

A Hopewell Township resident also went to the Hopewell Township Police Department on February 20 to report an incident of Fraud/Identity Theft. The victim advised that, after reviewing her bank account statement, she discovered her personal bank account was compromised by unknown actor(s). Officer Christopher Vaccarino also handled that report and will be conducting a follow up investigation.

On February 21, another Hopewell Township resident went to the Hopewell Township Police Department to report an incident of Fraud/Identity Theft. The victim advised that a credit account and auto loan was opened with his personal information without his authorization. Officer Sara Erwin was the investigating officer and will conduct a follow up investigation.

On February 23, Officer James Klesney responded to a residence on Crusher Rd. in response to an alarm. While checking the property, Officer Klesney observed damage to a rear door. Further investigation revealed that an unknown actor(s) had attempted entry into the residence through the door. It does not appear that the actor(s) gained access to the residence.  This incident is currently under investigation

Officer Michael Hyle responded to several car burglary reports on February 23. Several locked cars parked at the Mercer Meadows Park in the area of the dog park were forcibly entered during daylight hours. Pocketbooks, jewelry, and money were some of the items taken from the involved vehicles. Officer Michael Hyle will be following up with the investigation.
