Princeton Youth Hockey Association 8U’s Win Hershey Halloween Howl Tournament

by Community Contributor

The Princeton Youth Hockey Association (PYHA) 8U B team travelled to Hershey, PA over the weekend of October 28-30 for the Halloween Howl Ice Hockey Tournament and came home as tournament champions. The Princeton Tigers faced the hometown Hershey Jr. Bears in the first round, eking out a 6-5 win. Next up was the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, who fell to the Tigers in an 11-5 Tiger victory. The Tigers then handily defeated the Frederick Freeze 14-0.

The semifinal game against the Long Island Royals went into overtime play, with the Tigers scoring the winning goal 1 minute and 36 seconds into overtime to seal the victory with a 7-6 final score. The championship game was another close contest, with the Tigers prevailing over the Warwick Wildcats 10-9. The weekend held a lot of hockey, a lot of goals, and a lot of fun. We’re pretty sure a lot of candy was involved, too.
