Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler announces the opportunity to dispose of unneeded and expired prescription drugs during the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, October 27, 2018.
The goal is to help local residents to rid their medicine cabinets of unused and easily abused opioid painkillers, in addition to any other unneeded prescription medications.
Mercer County residents can easily dispose of unused and expired prescription pills, by bringing them to the parking lot across from the Mercer County Administration Building at 640 South Broad Street in Trenton, between 10am and 2pm. Hypodermic needles or liquid solutions not accepted.

Addiction or accidental misuse can sometimes happen right from your own medicine cabinet,”said Sheriff Kemler. “So, please look through your medicine cabinet and gather up any unused or expired medications, especially any opioid painkillers,”added Kemler.
National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible method for disposing of unneeded and expiredprescription pills. The program held each spring and fall is conducted by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
