PSE&G construction happening in Hopewell Township this week

by Community Contributor

UPDATE: PSE&G construction on Carter Road will pause until mid-October so the trenches can settle before paving. Contractors will return at that time to repave the road. While the upgraded electric system is now in service, the restoration work and final paving of the road still remains. Carter Road will be repaved curb-to-curb the entire length of the project area in late October 2021. Additional notifications will be sent prior to the start of any paving activity.

PSE&G is actively working overhead and underground in Hopewell Township. Below is the traffic plan for the week of August 30, 2021.

PSE&G crews will be working on Carter Road between Cherry Valley Road and Elm Ridge Road. The work area will have an alternating lane traffic pattern to allow motorists through the area. Please follow the direction of the traffic control as there may be some delays going through the work zone. Be aware of, and look for, signs indicating road closures and detours in the area.

PSE&G crews will be working on Moores Mill Mt Rose Road between Wargo Road and Pennington Rocky Hill Road. The work area will be closed to any through traffic but local residents will have access to their driveways. All other motorists will be directed to follow the detours.

PSE&G crews will be working on Pennington Hopewell Road between Route 31 and Moores Mill Mt Rose Road. Motorists will be allowed to turn right from Route 31 onto Pennington Hopewell Road. No right turns from Marshall Corner-Woodsville Road.

Please note that the traffic pattern is subject to change based on daily safety and work conditions. The project hotline is 1-800-606-0045 if you have any questions about the project.

This is the map for the Carter Rd construction (maps are not available for the other work).

Residents of Princeton Farms in Hopewell Township received the following additional information: Beginning on or around Wednesday, September 1, 2021, underground PSE&G construction activities will take place along Pennington Rocky Hill Road between Moores Mill Mount Rose Road and Carter Road. Work hours will be between 8am and 6pm Monday through Friday. Some unavoidable construction noise may be generated. This portion of the work is scheduled to continue for six weeks. Temporary paving and restoration will occur every evening, and final paving and restoration is expected to be completed by early April 2022, due to the required settlement period. All schedules are estimates, weather dependent, and subject to change.
