(UPDATED) Route 206 to be closed for culvert repair this week in Princeton

by MercerMe Staff

UPDATE 11/8/18: New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the POSTPONEMENT of the Route 206 closure and detour scheduled to begin tonight, Thursday, November 8 for the culvert replacement project over a Branch of Stony Brook in Princeton. The project is being postponed because of weather.

The project to excavate, demolish and replace a culvert over a branch of Stony Brook requires the closure of Route 206 in both directions between Hillside Avenue and Arreton Road for approximately one week. The work is expected to be rescheduled for next week and NJDOT will announce the new date once it is set.

Portable variable message signs will provide advance notification to motorists of traffic pattern changes associated with the work. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NJDOT_info and on our Facebook page.

Over the next week, a bridge closure will require Route 206 detours in both directions as a priority culvert replacement project advances in Princeton, according to New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials.
