Route 29 Lane Closure for Construction Work in Trenton

by Mary Galioto

The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) today announced a left lane closure on Route 29 southbound, for approximately a mile, for the staging of drilling equipment and vehicles in Trenton.

Beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30 and continuing until approximately Thursday October 1, 2015 at 3:30 p.m., NJDOT’s contractor, Kleinfelder, Inc. is scheduled to temporarily close the left lane along Route 29 southbound, near the exit ramp for Clearfield Avenue, which is north of the intersection with Route 579/Sullivan Way. Motorists may experience increased congestion due to the change in travel pattern. One lane will be maintained at all times. The work in Trenton is necessary for the installation of a monitoring well.

Variable message signs and detour signs are being utilized throughout the project limits to provide advance notification to motorists of all traffic pattern changes associated with the drilling project.

The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NJDOT_info.
