Rutgers Master Gardeners to Hold Plant Expo and Garden Market

by MercerMe Staff

The Rutgers Master Gardeners of Mercer County will hold their annual Spring Plant Expo and Garden Market on Saturday, May 4, from 9am to 2pm. The event will be held RAIN OR SHINE at the Mercer Educational Gardens, 431A Federal City Road, Hopewell Township, on the grounds of Mercer County Stables.

This year’s Expo will feature popular perennials, trees and shrubs home-grown by Rutgers Master Gardeners, a garden market with top-notch vendors from New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and a second-hand sale of gardening tools and books. Meet local growers and purchase a wide variety of native plants, woody ornamentals, perennials and herbs for your home landscape. For the vegetable garden, an assortment of organic tomato seedlings will be available, including Rutgers varieties and heirlooms, as well as a selection of organic pepper seedlings, hot and sweet. Plan to arrive early for the best selection! Rutgers Master Gardeners will be on hand to help you choose the right plant for the right place, and Mercer County Horticulturist Margaret Pickoff will be available to answer your gardening questions.
