Socially distant yoga available on the River

by Amie Rukenstein

The first of two free yoga classes at the river was held this morning under partly sunny skies. Titusville resident Christa Eastgate, who has been teaching yoga for nine years, led a class of about 20 through a traditional restorative class while bugs buzzed, bike riders passed, and even a bald eagle flew overhead.

Eastgate said that since the pandemic she hasn’t been able to teach in her regular venues, so recently approached the Washington Crossing Park Association for permission to hold a class outside in the park. The permission was granted for two weeks but a request for more dates may be made if the weather holds.

“It’s a positive thing, and I think we could all use some positivity,” she said.
