Sourland Conservancy makes announcements

The Sourland Conservancy, a Hopewell-based non-profit organization whose stated mission is to “protect, promote and preserve the unique character of the Sourland Mountain region” announces the release of a book of photos and essays entitled “Seeing the Sourlands” by Jim Amon.

Amon has enlightened and entertained Sourland Conservancy’s members since 2015 with his essays and photographs. Recently, Amon donated some of his work to the Sourland Conservancy to publish a beautiful, high quality, coffee table book of photos and essays.  All proceeds from the sale of the book will support the Conservancy’s work to protect and preserve the history and ecology of the Sourland Mountain region. The Conservancy is honored and very grateful to be the beneficiary of Jim’s talent and deep love for the Sourlands.

The Sourland Conservancy also announces upcoming events:

“Hopewell Gives Back: MLK Day of Service,” Monday, January 20, 9am to 12pm at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 80 West Broad Street, Hopewell Borough. Volunteers of all ages will help eight local nonprofits by baking, making fleece blankets, making seed bombs, and more. Donations of canned food, gently used shoes, and winter coats are greatly appreciated. This event is free and open to the public. Advance registration is required. “Dark Side of the Sourlands,” Friday, January 31, 7pm to 8:30pm at Hillbilly Hall. East Amwell historian Jim Davidson will explore the history of the Sourlands featuring bootleggers, bandits, mysteries, and murders.
