Township Committee to consider endorsement for cannabis farm Monday

by Amie Rukenstein

Hopewell Township Mayor Julie Blake let press outlets know today that, at the Township Committee meeting on Monday, an applicant for a State cannabis cultivation/manufacturing license is expected to appear to ask for the Committee’s endorsement, which is required in order to file the application.

Blake said that she expects that the agenda will contain a request from Rob Piasio that the Committee endorse his application to the State to establish a cannabis cultivation site at 147 Washington Crossing-Pennington Road. This property is at the corner of Scotch Road, across the street from the Municipal building, and has been for sale for many years by the Hoch family.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 6 at 5:30pm. The zoom link **will be here once the agenda is published. Blake encourages anyone who has questions or is looking for more information about the cannabis cultivation license application to attend the meeting.

**Edited December 2 at 11:27am – we just heard from the Mayor who said that the meeting will be on Monday at 6:30, not 5:30, and will be in person rather than virtual. If there are any further updates, we will add them here.
