Tree Lighting in Hopewell Township

by Community Contributor

Hopewell Township is about to get a lot more magical as it kicks off the holiday season at the annual Community Tree Lighting Ceremony. The Hopewell Township Recreation Department will be hosting the festive event on Monday, December 2, starting at 5pm.

The evening will begin inside the Municipal Building where everyone is welcome to write letters and cards to our soldiers abroad, as well as your favorite holiday character. At 6pm, everyone is invited to proceed to the front lawn along a path illuminated by “Womanspace Communities of Light” and gather around the holiday tree.

The Union Fire Squad and Rescue will be the guests of honor, celebrating 100 years of service, while the “Bear Tavern Treble Makers” will sing songs of celebration to put everyone in a festive and jovial mood.

Looking to spread the holiday cheer? Please bring in a new, unwrapped toy to support the “Toys for Tots” program. Donations can be dropped off at the Municipal Building. Hopewell Recreation will also be selling gift certificates this holiday season, which can be purchased to use toward community trips, Township programs, as well as camps and special events.  Certificates will go on sale on Monday, December 2.

The Township wishes a big “thank you” to Hardy Nurseries for donating this year’s Hopewell Township Holiday Tree.
