Two CHS students artwork honored at Statewide show

by Community Contributor

Two Hopewell Valley Central High School students were selected to have their artwork represent Mercer County in the State youth art month exhibition held recently in the State House in Trenton. The exhibition featured work from every county in the State.

Senior Rebecca Michelson submitted a watercolor painting and Autumn Palmer, grade 11, submitted a photo of a 3D piece she created.

The students also were honored by proclamations signed by State Senators Turner, Bateman and Greenstein, as well as State Members of the Assembly Verrelli, DeAngelo, Benson, Zwicker and Freiman.

The artwork will be displayed at a County show sponsored by AENJ and hosted by Artworks Trenton: http://artworkstrenton.org/yam-2020/  The County show opens on March 14 and runs through April 18. This show features work by students in schools across Mercer County –  HVCHS will have about 20 students’ artworks in the show

March is Youth Art Month and recognition of that is encouraged by the Art Educators of NJ (AENJ).  For more information, see https://councilforarteducation.org/youth-art-month/.
