Hopewell Elementary School will be partnering with Mercer County Park on its hard-to-recycle project. The program, promoted by Mercer County Parks was reported by MercerMe last week here: https://mercerme.com/have-hard-to-recycle-items-mercer-county-park-can-help/
According to Helen Corveleyn, a teacher at HES, in addition to County drop-off sites mentioned in last week’s article, drop-off for the TREX program will be available for the public in the front entrance vestibule at HES in a green and brown box labeled “TREX.”
Corveleyn explained that the following items can be recycled through Trex: produce bags, store bags, ice Bags, Ziploc and other reclosable bags, clean cereal bags, case overwrap, bread bags, newspaper sleeves, dry-cleaning bags, bubble wrap and plastic e-commerce mailers.
The plastic contributed to HES will be added to Mercer County Park’s collections to contribute to the Trex Bench competition, Corveleyn stated. The Trex program is scheduled to run until May 1, 2020.
