Vehicle break-ins on Villanova Drive in Lawrenceville

At 1:28 a.m. on Tuesday morning, Lawrence Township police were dispatched to Villanova Drive in Lawrenceville concerning a vehicle break-in located at a residential driveway. While in the area, Officer John Stever located a suspicious vehicle occupied by two individuals. A 30-year-old male who resides in New Brunswick NJ, (Driver), and a 42-year old-male who resides in Ridgewood, NJ., were taken into custody.

An on scene investigation revealed that the suspects entered five unlocked vehicles and stole assorted money, credit cards, and personal effects of several residents residing on Villanova Drive.

One individual was also charged with burglary of a residence located on Glenview Avenue which backs up to Villanova Drive and was also charged with 6 counts of burglary, 4 counts of theft of moveable property, 1 count possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), 1 count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and 1 count of credit card theft. The other individual was charged with 4 counts of complicity to commit burglary, 4 counts of receiving stolen property, 2 count of possession of a CDS, and 1 count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

The vehicle was impounded and both were remanded to the Mercer County Correction Center pending a detention hearing. Any resident with information regarding the above incidents should contact Detective Dan Gladney 609-844-7133 or [email protected].
