From Assunpink to Stony Brook: Streams of Lawrence Twp (virtual)

April 26, 2023 @ 7:00 pm

In our daily lives we pay very little attention to the water flowing all around us. Every day we cross bridges in our cars, occasionally our basements get wet, and sometimes we witness destructive flooding, but for the most part our local waterways are out of sight and out of mind. For earlier generations, however, streams were necessary both to sustain life and to power industry. Join From Assunpink to Stony Brook: The Story of the Streams of Lawrence Township on Wednesday April 26, 7pm to learn the story of our local streams, how they helped to shape the Lawrence of today, and how they in turn were shaped by forces that began well before the first colonists arrived in Maidenhead. Presented by Dennis P. Waters, Mercer County Library Commissioner and former Lawrence Township Historian. Co-sponsored with the Lawrence Township Environmental Education Foundation.
