First DRJTBC meeting sparks protest about possible Washington Crossing bridge replacement

by Amie Rukenstein

As you all know, MercerMe is a volunteer-run operation and so, unfortunately, we can’t always get to all the meetings we would like to get to. An important one we missed, for which there is no tape (we asked) despite the fact that it was available to watch live online, was the monthly Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission meeting held yesterday. One of the first items on the agenda was: “Preliminary Engineering and Environmental Documentation for the Washington Crossing Bridge Replacement.” The article linked below indicates participants were animated.

MercerMe has asked the DRJTBC for an interview or an in depth summary of their plans – we will let you know when they respond. In the meantime, Phillyburbs wrote an interesting article here. If you would like to report on this matter for MercerMe, it looks like the meetings are on the last Monday of each month – please contact [email protected]. We do pay reporters!
