Hopewell Valley Chorus Shines in Fourth Carnegie Hall Performance

by Community Contributor

“How do you get to Carnegie Hall?” The old joke says, “Practice.”

Members of the Hopewell Valley Chorus took this advice to heart, as they recently took part in a memorable performance of the Fauré Requiem at Carnegie Hall on June 8. The event marked the chorus’s fourth appearance at the iconic venue.

After the concert, members gathered for a celebratory photo to capture the moment. Seen here, left to right: Sandy Stein (Pennington), Scott Lundquist (Pennington), Kate O’Neill (Pennington), Katy Simonsen (Pennington), Artistic Director Heather Mitchell (Hamilton), Ellen Longo (Princeton), Nyah Charles (Ewing), Christina Rowntree (Princeton), Melissa Mitchell (Pennington), Betty Harris (Princeton), Gayle Holtzman (Montgomery), Pete Staats (Hopewell), and Elaine Pollak (Princeton).

Other HVC participants were Kendra Brito, Leslie Kowalski, Inger Magnusson, Renée Warias, Anna Jonkman, Ally McHugh, Lora Chio, and Nathan Schwed.
