The Hopewell Valley Chorus’s spring concert, “Remembrance and Resilience,” will feature two works, separated in age by 130 years but each celebrating the strength of the human spirit. “Out of the Ashes of Holocaust,” a new cantata by contemporary composer Joshua Fishbein, tells the true story of two families: Greek Jews fleeing the Nazis and the family who sheltered the strangers, sharing their perils and their plight. Dr. Fishbein will be present with an in-person introduction to his piece. The evening will conclude with Gabriel Fauré’s beloved Requiem.
The concert will take place on May 10 at St. James Church, 115 E. Delaware Avenue, Pennington, starting at 7pm. For further information or to reserve tickets ($12/15), email [email protected].
