Hopewell Valley Scouts Place Flags at Veterans’ Graves for Memorial Day

by Community Contributor

Scouts from Titusville Troop 1776 commemorated Memorial Day by placing American flags on the graves of nearly 250 veterans at Harbourton Cemetery on Wednesday, May 22. This act of remembrance, sponsored annually by the Hopewell Valley Lions Club, was particularly orderly this year thanks to a recent project by Eagle Scout Matthew Nguyen. Nguyen developed an interactive survey of the cemetery, enabling scouts to easily locate the graves of veterans.

Participants in this year’s event included Nate Heiss and Will Somma, featured in the attached photos, along with Adam Russell, Brock Ingram, Finn Russell, and Nick Sargeant.
