Yes folks, it’s already time to gear up for the height of the winter holidays… (Where did November go?). There are many fun activities going on in our area this season. Here are some opportunities to explore starting this week:

Bus Trip to “Joy to the World” at American Music Theater – Dec 11, 9:30am – 6:30pm
Depart from Independence Park, Pennington
Let us do the driving to this charming holiday production. Before the show, we will stop for lunch at Shady Maple Smorgasbord and have time to visit their gift shop! Cost $125 Hopewell residents, $135 non-residents. Register with Hopewell Parks & Recreation at www.hopewelltwp.org

Kids Creations holiday themed arts and crafts – Saturday Dec 14, 10am-11am
Hopewell Twp. Municipal Building, 201 Washington Crossing-Pennington Rd, Titusville
Teachers from Art in the Park lead a workshop for kids aged 5-10 in holiday arts and crafts. Cost $20. Register with Hopewell Parks & Recreation at www.hopewelltwp.org

Hopewell Art and Community Holiday Market – Saturday Dec 14, 10am-5pm
Hopewell Train Station, Railroad Place
Features a curated group of local artists and artisans and community fundraising. Offerings will include ceramics, fine art, heirloom sewn creations, jewelry, textiles, woodwork, as well as fair trade gifts, sourdough bread, and activities for children while you shop. 

NYC Holiday Trip –  Sunday Dec 15, 10am-8pm
Depart from Independence Park, Pennington
Enjoy a day in the city exploring, shopping, or taking in a show. Bus arrives and departs from  Times Square, participants are on their own for the day. Cost $45 residents, $50 non-residents. Register with Hopewell Parks & Recreation at www.hopewelltwp.org

A Christmas Carol – through Dec 15
Music Mountain Theater, Music Mountain Theater, 1423 NJ-179, Lambertville
A spectacular musical production of Dickens’ most well-known story. Showtimes at 3pm and 8pm. Visit musicmountaintheater.org for tickets.

Holiday Tea & Tours at Cairnwood Estates – Tues. Dec 17, 10:15am-5pm
Depart from Independence Park, Pennington
Travel to Bryn Athyn, PA, and for a self-guided tour of Glencairn Museum followed by Holiday Tea at Cairnwood Estate. After tea, there will be a docent-supported self-guided tour at the Estate, and a guided tour of Bryn Athyn Cathedral. Hopewell resident $145, non-resident $155. Music Mountain Holiday Concert – Dec 20-22
Music Mountain Theater, 1423 NJ-179, Lambertville
Enjoy quintessential holiday music by Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, Mariah Carey, Rosemary Clooney and more. Presented by a live 17-piece big band and your favorite Music Mountain vocalists. Showtimes at 3pm and 8pm. Visit musicmountaintheater.org for tickets.

72nd Annual Christmas Day Crossing Reenactment – Dec 25, 12pm-3pm
Washington Crossing Historic Park 
See what it looked like when Washington’s troops crossed the Delaware on that fateful day. Free to the public. This unique event draws hundreds of people each year. Visit washingtoncrossingpark.org for more information.
