Hopewell Borough businesses targeted in burglary
On January 12, Officer Christopher Vaccarino responded to Antimo’s Italian Kitchen for a reported burglary. The victim reported that an unknown subject forced entry into the business and attempted to gain entry to a safe inside, however, the suspect was unsuccessful and nothing was taken. The incident took place during the overnight hours
between January 11 and January 12.

During the same timeframe, the suspect also attempted to gain entry into Michael’s Deli using a crowbar on a rear entry door. The suspect was unsuccessful at gaining entry and nothing was taken from the business.
The investigation of both incidents is active and ongoing.
Check fraud scam hits Hopewell Borough business owner
On January 17, Officer James Hoffman responded to a Hopewell Borough East Broad Street address for a reported check fraud. Upon arrival, Officer Hoffman made contact with the victim who reported that their personal check was altered and cashed. The check was originally mailed for payment of a bill for the victim’s business. However, the billing company never received the check in question. The victim’s check was found to have been altered and cashed by an unknown party. The victim suffered a loss of $35,009. The investigation is ongoing.
Burglary at Titusville church, police search for unidentified male
On January 11, Officer Jonathan Pauciullo responded to First Presbyterian Church on River Drive in Titusville for a reported burglary. Officer Pauciullo met with the reporting party who stated that an unidentified male entered the building and stole miscellaneous items. A value on the items taken could not be reported at the time. The incident is under investigation.
AmEx activity alerts local to fraud
On January 11, Officer Paul Alvaro met with the victim of fraud in the HTPD lobby. The victim stated that they were contacted American Express about suspected fraudulent activity on their account, as an unidentified party attempted to transfer $10,000 from the victim’s account. The account was flagged and no loss of funds was incurred. The investigation is ongoing.
Catalytic converter stolen on Route 31
On January 11, Officer Arthur Juba responded to a North Route 31 address for a reported theft of a catalytic converter. The victim reported that the catalytic converter from their vehicle was cut and removed during the overnight hours prior. The incident was captured on surveillance and shows two individuals involved in the theft. The
incident is under investigation.
Rt 31 business hit aagain
On January 16, Officer Maria Gavdanovich responded to a business located on North Route 31 for criminal mischief and burglary. Upon arrival, Gavdanovich discovered that the glass front door was smashed to gain entry into the business. No items appeared to have been stolen during the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
