Happy July 4th from MercerMe!
This Independence Day, we’re celebrating a different kind of freedom: the freedom to know what’s happening in your own community.
In just the past few weeks, MercerMe has reported on:
- Hopewell Township’s final affordable housing plan—and the public’s role in shaping it
- A $23.8 million visitor center and museum breaking ground at Washington Crossing State Park, ahead of the 250th anniversary of American independence
- The Hopewell Valley school board’s support for an $84.2 million referendum to improve aging school buildings and meet rising enrollment needs—now headed for the November ballot
These aren’t just headlines—they’re the foundation of civic life. And they matter whether you live here, grew up here, or simply care about Hopewell Valley’s future.
This kind of community-rooted reporting only happens because of reader support. On a holiday that honors independence, we’re grateful for yours.
