Altercation at Capital Health results in arrests

The following report was provided to MercerMe by the Hopewell Township Police Department:

On October 23, 2023 at approximately 7:25 am, Officer’s responded to Capital Health Hopewell Hospital for a report of a robbery near the main entrance. Caller reported the suspect had brandished a knife. As Officer’s arrived, the suspects fled. Upon speaking with the victim, officers learned that the victim had been assaulted. During the assault, police were told one of the suspects brandished a knife and stole the victim’s cell phone and credit cards.

Through the investigation, Officer James Klesney was able to identify the suspects as two 18-year-old women. Both were charged with several offenses. One of the suspects was charged with Robbery and Aggravated Assault and remanded to the Mercer County Correctional Center. The other was charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon for unlawful purpose. The case will be heard at Mercer County Superior Court.
