From Oct. 18 to Oct. 20, 2025, BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham in Robbinsville, New Jersey, radiated with the spirit of Diwali. Diwali is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, and some Buddhists. The specific reasons and days for celebration vary among the faiths. The official five-day celebration of Diwali by Hindus may be over today, but visitors can still help celebrate the Diwali season through Oct 26. Thousands of devotees, well-wishers, and visitors from across tri-state area have already gathered at the spiritual campus to celebrate the victory of light over darkness, goodness over evil, and harmony over division.

Among the many highlights of the multi-day festivities was the breathtaking light display that illuminated the night sky in the Akshardham courtyard. The celebration also included a maha aarti — a collective offering of light and devotion — setting the tone for an evening that blended spirituality and spectacle. Local dignitaries and public officials from Mercer County and beyond joined the gathering, witnessing first-hand the profound sense of togetherness that Diwali inspires.
Another cornerstone of the celebration was the special mahaprasad, where over 20,000 visitors were joyously served sanctified, traditional Indian food, and almost 100,000 visitors are slated to be served over the course of the celebrations. Families, friends, and visitors from all walks of life came together to share a meal — a powerful reminder that food, faith, and fellowship can bridge differences and nurture unity. The warm, festive atmosphere transformed the campus into a home for all.
Speaking on the occasion, Darshan Patel, BAPS spokesperson shared, “Diwali at Akshardham is more than a festival — it’s an experience of coming together. In a world where differences often divide, our goal this year was to remind everyone that unity is our greatest strength and the light that dispels all darkness.”

Every year, Diwali celebrations at BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham continue to be spiritually enriching in the region, welcoming visitors of all backgrounds to celebrate together.
