The annual Night to Raise Awareness of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, Communities of Light, supports Womanspace. This year it will be held on December 6.
At dusk, hundreds of people, scores of organizations and community groups, and the municipalities within Mercer Countywill light thousands of their candles. Each luminary kit costs $10 and includes supplies and safety instructions for assembling six luminary displays to cover 150 linear feet. 100% of proceeds go to Womanspace to benefit their programs, which serve more than 10,000 adults and children each year.
Here at the Township, the Police will be lighting up the Municipal Building. If you would like to participate, see Township Director of Recreation Karin Poveromo, KPoveromo@hopewelltwp.org / 609-737-3753, who will be collecting donations. The money and signup sheets must be collected by Monday, November 29. On December 6 all the luminaries donated by staff will be lit.
