Costumes, candy, and community fill Woolsey Park at Haunted Hopewell

by Mike Chipowsky

Woolsey Park was buzzing with costumes, candy buckets, and community spirit Saturday afternoon as Hopewell Township hosted its annual “Haunted Hopewell” celebration.

Kids and their grown-ups arrived dressed as superheroes, animals, classic Halloween characters, and even a few video-game favorites — but they weren’t the only ones getting into the spirit. The Hopewell Township Police Department, the Hopewell Fire Department, and EMS personnel all decorated their vehicles for trick-or-treating, while township staff and librarians handed out candy in costume.

The family-friendly event featured trick-or-treating stations, music, games, and plenty of photo opportunities as families made their way through the park under clear October skies.
