Hornets, Wasps and Bees, Oh My!

August 5 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

People are beginning to appreciate bees (or at least fear them a little less) but the same can’t always be said for their much-maligned cousins, the hornets and wasps. Yet these insects play vital roles in our ecosystem and are important allies in our gardens. Join Sabrina Tirpak, Laboratory Researcher at the Rutgers Plant Diagnostic Laboratory, for an informative look at the biology of bees, hornets, and wasps. Learn how to identify and distinguish some of the species commonly found in our yards, discover the valuable work they do, and separate facts from fiction as common myths about these often-misunderstood insects are dispelled. Please visit events.mcl.org to register to receive the link to the program.
