Édouard Manet knew early in his life that he wanted to become an artist. His passion led him to be one of the first 19th-century artists to paint modern life. Manet is known today as an influential painter who left his own unique mark on the art world. In spite of scandal, secrets, and illness, Manet gave us paintings that are considered some of the most important works of the nineteenth century and are held in many major international museums and galleries. Presented by Jeanne Johnson, docent at the Princeton University Art Museum as well as Morven Museum and Gardens. Please visit www.mcl.org to register to receive the link to program.
