The Awakening – Public Art Installation and Opening Celebration

Join the Hopewell Valley community for a joy and art-filled celebration of J. Seward Johnson’s monumental 70-foot sculpture – The Awakening – at D&R Greenway’s St. Michaels Farm Preserve. The event will include dance, poetry, music, and storytelling – all things that Seward Johnson loved.

The installation of The Awakening was made possible by a generous grant from the Atlantic Foundation, a Johnson family foundation, to The Johnson Atelier. This event is part of Seward Johnson | Celebrating the Everyday, a year-long celebration honoring the life and work of the late Seward Johnson, hosted by the Hopewell Valley Arts Council and The Johnson Atelier.
