The Children’s Home Society of NJ’s Inaugural “Birth and Beyond” Celebration
The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey (CHSofNJ), “saving the lives of children and building stronger families” since 1894, will host its inaugural Birth & Beyond Community Celebration — a festive luncheon highlighting the nonprofit’s work to help mothers, babies, and families thrive. A leader among child welfare agencies, CHSofNJ works extensively to improve perinatal care, strengthen family supports, and advance equitable maternal and infant health – particularly in low-income Black and Brown communities facing systemic barriers to care.
Purpose: The Celebration will convene community leaders, healthcare partners, philanthropists, businesses, advocates, and concerned members of the public to raise awareness of maternal health disparities, celebrate improved birth outcomes, and promote equitable access to maternal and infant health services. The event will help CHSofNJ reach more families with the support they need to have a healthy pregnancy, a safe birth, and a strong start.
Honorees:
Birth and Beyond Champion Award – Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman
Birth and Beyond Community Partner Award – Capital Health
Birth and Beyond Collective Impact Award – NJ Senator Shirley Turner, NJ Assemblywoman Verlina
Reynolds-Jackson, and the NJ Maternal and Infant Health Innovation Authority (NJMIHIA)
