Astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong were the first two humans to land on the Moon. As part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of this moon landing, and since Buzz Aldrin was one of Morven’s famous visitors during the Governors’ Era, we will read My Little Golden Book About the First Moon Landing by Charles Lovitt (Author), Bryan Sims (Illustrator) then create a take-home rocket craft in Morven’s gardens.
Amateur Astronomers Association of Princeton Outreach Chair, Gene Allen will present “The Night Sky and Our Place in It” illustrated lecture followed by a stargazing event in Morven’s backyard. Participants are invited to attend the 7:00 p.m. Twilight Tour prior to the lecture to learn about Morven’s residents who would have also gazed at the skies in earlier times.
