Fatal crash on Penn-Harb

This is a report from the Hopewell Township Police Department:

On Monday October 9, 2023 at 3:20 PM, Hopewell Township Police officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Pennington-Harbourton Road and Scotch Road. Officers arrived on scene and found that a grey Subaru Outback had struck a motorcyclist operating a black Honda motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a 24 year old male, was transported by ambulance from the scene and was later pronounced deceased at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell Campus. The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time, pending next-of-kin notifications.

The initial investigation shows that the driver of the Subaru was traveling on Pennington-Harbourton Road attempting a left turn onto Scotch Road when the collision occurred. The investigation is ongoing at this time. 

The crash is being investigated by Officer George Peterson and Detective Christopher Collins of the Hopewell Township Police Department, as well as Detective Salvatore Vaccaro of the Mercer County Prosecutors Office.
