Fire at Bank of America Property in Hopewell Twp

A commercial fire occurred at approximately 7:20 a.m. on June 29, 22026, at the 1550 building on American Boulevard, Bank of America property. Hopewell Township Police received a 9-1-1 call from the building reporting there was a fire in the kitchen. Upon arrival, responding officers and fire personnel observed smoke billowing out from the building.   

Fire personnel, under the command of Chief Roger Demareski of the Pennington Fire Department, arrived on location and began work on the fire.  

Responding agencies assisting the Pennington Fire Department were Hopewell Valley Emergency Services, Hopewell Fire Department, Union Fire Company, Lawrence Township Fire Department, West Trenton Fire Department, Prospect Heights Fire Department, and Capital Health EMS.   

There were people inside the building at the time of the fire, but all staff had safely evacuated. The building suffered extensive water and smoke damage. Preliminary investigation of the fire pointed to nothing suspicious. However, all fires in the Township are investigated as suspicious in nature until proven otherwise. No injuries were reported.  

The source of the fire is under investigation by the Mercer County Fire Marshall and Hopewell Valley Emergency Services.
