Motherhood can mean different things for different people. But one thing is constant — the love a mother has for her children and what she will do to give them the best lives possible, shared Linda Martin, owner of Flutter Boutique in Pennington, NJ.
Each year, Linda honors an “Amazing Mom” at her women’s clothing boutique – w mother who embodies strength and love. This year, local resident Mary Jane Cooper was named Amazing Mom.
“As a single mom, Mary Jane went back to school and got her law degree at a time when women were not seen as equals in that profession,” said Linda. “She persevered and not only succeeded, but excelled, becoming the first Inspector General for the state of New Jersey, while creating a warm, loving home for her children and a rewarding career for herself. She also set an example for her daughter, Sara, for what a woman could accomplish.
It is an honor to celebrate Mary Jane and give her the recognition she deserves as a role model, a trailblazer and a mother.”
Mary Jane’s daughter, Sara Cooper, also lives locally in Titusville, and is the founder of the local marketing and branding company, Cooper Creative.
“My mother has been an amazing role model to me and so many,” said Sara. “She taught me the values of community service and always encouraged me to pursue my dreams, career and more. More than a pretty face, her legal career includes some incredible accomplishments… and did I mention her awesome cooking and needlepoint Christmas stockings? I am thrilled to see her honored by the incredible, community leader Linda Martin,” said Sara who went on to thank Linda for her incredible community support and business trailblazing.
Mary Jane, the Amazing Mom of 2018 was humbled to be awarded with this year’s honor. “I was so surprised when I heard that my amazingdaughterSara suggested me and Linda Martin selected me for this year’s Amazing Mom honoree. Linda is so community minded that it is not surprising that she had such a great idea to spotlight some of the many amazing moms in our area every year at Mothers Day. I never thought that I would be one, however, because there are so many single mothers who, when circumstances required, rose to the occasion and did what they could to make their children’s lives happy and successful. It has been a lovely experience to be honored by Linda and her Flutter staff and to get to know and appreciate their many talents better. I can’t praise and thank them enough!”
