FoHVOS and Art Sparks connect families with art and nature in new program

Hopewell Valley’s premiere Land Trust and Art Studio once again join together to offer their newest art and nature family workshop.

Last year, when Hopewell Elementary School (HES) announced their newly planned outdoor reflection area, Art Sparks and FoHVOS partnered on its first fundraiser. Their leaf monoprint family workshop sold-out within 24 hours of its announcement and proceeds supported collections for the new outdoor space to be built in Spring 2020.

Back by popular demand, Art Sparks and FoHVOS are offering a second family workshop. As before, Julie Rosenthale will donate her time and store location to ensure that all proceeds are applied to the HES project. FoHVOS will supply light refreshments.

For this workshop at the Art Sparks studio, each participant will create a mixed media bird portrait on a wood panel.  Families will paint, draw, and collage as they are inspired by the colors, shapes and variety of birds, as well as by the work of artist Pete Cromer.

Mixed Media Bird Portrait on Wood Panel Workshop Details:

  • Saturday, January 18, 2020
  • $40 suggested donation per child/adult pairing (limited to 12 pairs)
  • 4–5:30pm Family Workshop at Art Sparks Studio, 33 Railroad Place, Hopewell Borough
