Construction crews will continue gas line replacement work in the borough this week, bringing closures and detours to Green Street and Broemel Place.
From Monday, Sept. 22, through Wednesday, Sept. 24, trenching will take place on the east side of Green Street. During that time, Detour 12 will be in force. West Delaware Avenue to Route 31 will reopen as crews shift into Green Street, but the following closures will remain in effect:
- Green Street closed to through traffic at Route 31 and Broemel Place.
- Green Street closed at West Delaware Avenue.
- Green Street closed at Brookside Place.
Local residents will be able to reach their homes, and emergency vehicles, deliveries, and waste collection will still have access.
Work will also be at Broemel Place from Monday, Sept. 22, through Thursday, Sept. 25, with Detour 12 continuing. Road closures will remain in place at Route 31 and Broemel Place, at West Delaware and Green Street, and at Green Street and Brookside Place. Crews will also be digging entry and exit holes at the Green Street/Broemel Place intersection.
Officials said access for residents, emergency vehicles, and deliveries will be maintained. Traffic conditions beyond Sept. 25 are to be determined.
